A perfect gift

A perfect gift

Personalized Flash Drives

Clutter, clutter, clutter, and the real worry is losing out your files, your very important files. For a person whose computer is already fully loaded with files, as in jam pack, organizing the computer files would be the most difficult task. Oh, gee, twice if you constantly need to transfer your files from different computers or from your lappy to your office’s desktop. When I was in college, files transfer was very difficult. After working out my projects at home, I needed to transfer it to our school’s lappy for my presentation. I was just using diskettes then so I needed to bring backup disks in case the others did not work. With that kind of “transfer-file-lifestyle”, I accumulated tons of rotten disks at home. Now, that kind of problem will not happen again. With the Personalized Flash Drives that are funky, lightweight, removable and rewritable, file storage and transfer would be just a nutshell. Aside from the very good benefit, it holds more files, more compact, more durable, and generally faster than floppy disk.

Personalized Flash Drive: The gift that I would love to receive this Christmas, Santa read my wish list. I am so excited to try the New mix CD and the Portable library features of it. By the way, my dearest Santa, for the details, I love the color blue with my name engraved on it, on both sides, and with the sports theme.

Are we there yet?

Once upon another time...

Donkey:

Are we there yet

?
Shrek: No.
Fiona: Not yet.
Donkey: Okay. Are we there yet?
Fiona: No.
Donkey: Are we there yet?
Shrek: No!
Donkey: Are we there...yet?
Shrek: Yes.
Donkey: Really?
Shrek: NO!
Donkey: Are we there yet?!
Fiona: No!
Donkey: Are we there yet?!
Shrek: No, we are not!
Donkey: ARE WE THERE YET?!?!
Shrek and Fiona: NO!!!!!!
[Pause]
Donkey: Are we there yet?
Shrek: [talking over Donkey] Are we there yet?
Donkey: Hey, that's not funny.
Shrek: Hey, that's not funny.
Donkey: Oh, that's really immature!
Shrek: Oh, that's really immature!
Donkey: See, this is why nobody likes ogres!
Shrek: See, this is why nobody likes ogres!
Donkey: All right, your loss!
Shrek: All right, your loss.
Donkey: I'm just gonna stop talking!
Shrek: Finally!
Donkey: But this is takin' forever, Shrek, and ain't no in-flight movie or nothin'!
Shrek: The kingdom of Far Far Away, Donkey. That's where we're going. Far...far...away.
Donkey: All right, all right. I get it! I'm just so darn BORED!
Shrek: Well, find a way to entertain yourself!
[Silence]
Donkey: [pops his lips, then again, and Shrek grows more impatient, then Donkey pops his lips a third time]
Shrek: [restraining temper] Oh! For 5 minutes...could you not be yourself? [exploding] FOR 5 MINUTES!!!
[After another silence, Donkey pops his lips one last time]
Shrek: AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRGH!!! ARE WE THERE YET?!?!
Fiona: Yes!
Donkey: Oh, finally!

This is a famous convo between Shrek, Donkey and Fiona on Shrek 2 adventure; the 2004 animated film sequel to the previous film Shrek in which Princess Fiona's parents invite her and Shrek to dinner to celebrate her marriage, not knowing that the newlyweds are both ogres.

24 hours. 350 miles. His girlfriend's kids. What could possibly go wrong?
Coming soon... by plane, by train, by car.

And these are some of the not-so-famous tag lines from the 2005 movie Are We There Yet; a road trip of Nick, the playboy bachelor with the two kids of a divorced mother whom he’s dating. The trip was a disaster at the outset but with the usual happy script, it ended with “they lived happily ever after".

Here's our time...

What is the commonality between the two scenes? The agreement that I am referring to has something to do with the question “Are we there yet?” Both scenes are inquiring about “Are we there yet?’ the fixation of getting to a place in an instant that we usually overlooked the details and pleasure of the means of getting to a place. Just like with me, I usually get bored while travelling that is why I always schedule my trip during the night so that I could kill time by dozing off, though I usually having a hard time too. I always think of the destination place and the activity that I would do after I got there – the usual future-oriented maniac. I am not talking literal here, of going to a place and continuously asking, “Are we there yet?” This is about life. When I was a kid, I always think of being old enough to do the things that id love to in my own. When I entered high school, getting the right vocation was my priority and when stepped on college, the dream of having my own life was the biggest deal of all. I always look and savor the future – my destination. However, unavoidable things may happen, anytime, anywhere. So instead of imagining your destination place or securing your journey, it is better to enjoy the moments of your life, every moment...for you do not when are you going to retire. I have learned that lesson already. That is why though I am living with a slump-like situation right now, I am trying to bite into the bright side of everything. Life goes on and life is too short. Instead of questioning “Are we there yet?’, it’d be better to enjoy the scenery on the way.

Every moment counts and you cannot turn back time…Spend your time with your kids – they grow fast and they will never be kids again. Enjoy the time with your mums and dads – it is the best gift you could give to them. Kiss and say I love you to everyone you treasure – take every opportunity to make them feel loved…and of course, Enjoy every moment of your life.

It is not bad to feel sorry and sad, but a little mourn each day is enough. Be happy and enjoy the ride!!!

Little Red Riding Hood

Little Red Riding Hood

A Martian Reaction

Little Red Riding Hood is a famous fairy tale about a young girl's encounter with a wolf. The story has changed considerably in its history, and been subject to numerous modern adaptations and readings. Here's one good analysis about this funny folktale - the Martian point of view.

What kid of a mother sends a little girl into a forest wherethere are wolves? Why didnt her mother do it herself, or go along with LRRH? If grandmother was so helpless, why did mother leave her all by herself in a hut far away? But if LRRH had to go, how come her mother had never warned her not to stop and talk to wolves? The story makes it clear that LRRH had never been told that this was dangerous. No mother could really be that stupid, so it sounds as if her mother didnt care much what happened to LRRH, or maybe even wanted to get rid of her. No little girl is that stupid either. How could LRRH lookat the wolf's eyes, ears, hands, and teeh, and still think it was her grandmother? Why didnt she get out there as fast as she could?

Here's the martian point of view:
1. The mother is evedently trying to lose her daughter "accidentally," or at least she wantsto end up saying: "Isnt it awful, you can't even walk through the park nowadays without soem wolf...etc"etc.
2. The wolf, instead of eatign rabbits and such, is obviously overreacting himself, and he must know that he will come to a bad end that way, so he must want to invite trouble. Motto: Live dangerously and die gloriously. Book: Nietzsche
3. Grandmother lives alone and leaves her door unlached, so she may be hoping for soemthing insterestign to happen, something which coudn't happen is she were living with her folks. She was probably young enough to be ripe for adventures, since LRRH was still a little girl.
4. The hunter is obviously a rescuer who enjoys working over his vanquished opponents with sweet little maidens to help.
5. LRRH tell the wolf quite explicitly where he can meet her again, and even climbs into bed with him.

The moral of the story is not that innocent maidens should keep out of forests where
there are wolves, but that wolves should keep away from innocent-looking maidens and their grandmothers: in short, a wolf should not walk through the forest alone. This also rises the ineteresting questions of what the mother did after she got rid of LRRH for the day.
