Fade it away

The cliché says First Love never dies, and I guess one of the most painful events in life is getting over the first love that made you fly but in the end it left you with the broken wings. First love doesn’t always end in “they-lived-happily-ever-after” scene. Most of us are just so naïve to believe that the magic of first love cannot be replaced by any other love. In my case, still struggling with this little foolishness…

5 things I hated after my first heart-broken experience.

1. Bes- because this was my ex called me after our break-up. It’s killing me; I loved that person more than best friend but the hell, I was just the nth party. Though my so-called Bes has not done something heinous (like stealing my jelly beans), the thought of being betrayed is always coined with that alternative title –Bes.

2. Krispy Crème - reminds me of ex again, during my quick visits before going to work with the uberly sweet donuts on hand. And the cuddling under the moonlight romance and the sweet goodbyes whenever I sent my Bes home.

3. Buying shirts of same kind – I would never ever wear that shirt again. Swear! Oh, I forgot to donate it during Ondoy.

4. Tramadol – The paradoxical effect - it’s making me sick, sheesh. It alleviated your headache but it would never (not even a bit) ease the pain that you caused me.

5. Lastly, my feeble emotions. I hate it whenever I remember you because it’s very unfair for my baby.

N.B. Pathetic me! Babe, forgive me. I just don’t want to pretend that I am okay. I thought that I could breeze it out with you. I’m such a jerk for being insensitive. Please say you'll never go.

HOLIDAY

Back in my elementary grades whenever there’s someone who'd ask me about my favorite subject, my favorite answer was -“RECESS”. Recess would mean a trip to canteen to buy ice candy, a chase around the trees, a treat by eating gummy bears and cry baby and a lot more of taking advantage the15 minutes by running around the playground regardless the blaze of sun.

When body hair started to grow and crushes became the mainstream in life, this event was then called BREAK-TIME. It was a perfect fleeting time to sight-see my dearly schoolmates and a time for giggles for the sweet hi-hello encounters, a gossip occasion, a boastful incident – flirting.

Then books started to file up into my desks and thesis writing suggested a more serious life. The break-time then evolved to TIME-OUT. It’s a spell-breaker to the monotony of my traditional professors who assumed to be genius and to my exhausting vacant stare at the white board assuming that I fully understood the x and y equations.

And now the 15-min becomes the most valuable thing for me, and I now call it REST. It’s a time to rest my feet from walking here and there from attending my client needs and to feed my hungry tummy. It’s a rest from my draining ten hours of work.

Everyone needs a recess, a break, a time-out, a rest.

A vacation leave from work

A semester’s break at school

A stop-over from a long trip

A commercial break for soaps

A contraceptive holiday

Everyone needs it…

Even in LOVE.

When you asked me if I still love you, I didn’t say no. I said nothing.
When you asked me again, my reply was, “It’s not easy to fall out in love”
What I really wanted and what we really need is a recess, a break, a time-out, a rest.

…A recess for us to enjoy eating gummy bears alone while reminiscing the dinner we had.

…A break-time for us to see the world beyond our hugs and to have a sight-see, like a walk in the park during idle Sundays.

…A time-out for our arguments and misunderstandings for us to enjoy the harmony in our differences.

…A rest for us to reexamine and reassess our relationship.

Who’s in Control?

Who’s in Control?

I found this interesting quotation from Nicky Silver, The food Chain

“Men Rule the world”

(the world is made for men, agree? Hmmm, I guess so)

“Penises rule the men”

(OMG, the vulnerability point of the surging testosterone)

“Who rules the penises?”

(This is the real question amigo, who really rules our little men)

“We do, darling”

(the simplest answer, lol)

As girls become women and boys become men, all of us learn that sex is a power that we can posses – or be possessed by. Here are some statements that are somehow mind-boggling for being so simple and direct.

Men can control women sexually because, if one doesn’t say “yes”, they’ll find one who will.
Women can control men sexually because it’s they who decide if it’s “yes” or “no”

Men can control women sexually because they’re physiologically able to rape.
Women can control men sexually because, if they choose to, they call anything ‘rape”

Men can control women sexually because they get sex from women by giving them goodies.
Women can control men sexually because they get goodies from men in exchange for sex.

But here’s my point fella, as the earth revolves around the mightiest sun, things on terrestrial also revolve constantly and sometimes the revolution is upside down when it comes to the mightiest sex.

Here are the simple tidbits…

Women are now capable to rape men

, have you heard of the “MSG” style? This is really alarming, that’s why I don’t easily accept free drinks. For my virginity sake fella, I’ve been taking care of this, lol
Because

women outnumbered men

, take another less from those studs hiding inside the creepy closet full of “mama mia” skeletons, it’s the gals now who give goodies in exchange for a round of hotta hotta experience, agree?
And in some cases, it’s really the

men who decide

the ‘yes” and “no”. Another long lol…

Contemplating this list, we may conclude that – when it comes to sexual power –women and men have only imperfect control.

McDO, Umbrella, and The made-up Story

Last Thursday, my niece and I went to McDonalds to grab the new Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa toys free from every happy meal. The store is walking distance to our place but my niece asked me to ride on a tricycle. Upon arriving to McDo, my niece immediately went to the shelf where the toys are being displayed at while I queued up to the counter. Her eyes were glued to the toys, poring over the details of each toy. I remember, when KungFu Panda characters went out to McDonalds happy meals, we collected it all in less than two weeks. We both had crispy chicken, soda, and additional fries. While were having fun playing with Skipper and Marty, I rummaged my niece’s body bag, and then I noticed that our umbrella was missing. I blurted it out with alarm and with a snap; we both figured out that we left it on the tricycle. She got worried as much as do and I know that she took a part of responsibility to our things. I told her “ate, we’ll finish this food and we’ll figure out a solution.” After our meal, I told her that we’re just going on foot back home. On our way, we were goofing around for our lame excuses in losing the umbrella. Then I told her, “Mommy (my sister) will get mad ate”, we need to think of a solution”. She replied sharply, “We’ll buy one”. Then, we made a high five. We agreed to keep it as a secret until we have the replacement. When we got home, we were still laughing for losing the umbrella and kidding each other that we’d be busted to her mum. Our maid saw us in that euphoria and got questioning. We both told her that we have a secret. And our maid leveled up with her snooping to my niece. I got upstairs and spent my hours on the net while my niece was still wrangling over with our maid. When I got down, our maid told me that my niece has already told her about our secret. “What”, I asked Stacey. She just gave me wink. Then I asked Glenda, our maid, about it. Glenda said that our secret was my date for the coming Sunday that I needed to save money for that date and Stacey will help me out. After hearing that, I had a great laugh and had a high five with my niece. I never thought that my niece would be able to fabricate such story to get rid of Glenda’s inquest. LOL.

Difficult and Demanding People

Difficult and Demanding People

The golden rule states "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you."

I thought that was the rule that will make the world fair and just but i was wrong... I had this terrible experience when i favored a person's request but in the end i felt that I was stoned to death.

As usual, i was hooked in front of my pc, googling, chatting, killing time...In my denouement, there was someone who sent a private message to me...simple pep talked for getting-to-know stuffs but then as we go on with our conversation, i noticed that he started to demand things on me. Damn!...

Pop OuT:

"

Difficult and Demanding

people are on the hunt for a quarrel. It’s not personal, usually. It’s just that you happen to be the most convenient target.

Difficult people are insecure. They want YOU think and live like THEY think and live. Misery indeed loves company. They feel better if you are tense and unhappy.

What can you do to instantly neutralize their negativity? You cannot stop them from being difficult and demanding. Heaven help you if you try! But you can control your own reactions through the amazing power of NowFacts." by Tom Russel

Are we there yet?

Once upon another time...

Donkey:

Are we there yet

?
Shrek: No.
Fiona: Not yet.
Donkey: Okay. Are we there yet?
Fiona: No.
Donkey: Are we there yet?
Shrek: No!
Donkey: Are we there...yet?
Shrek: Yes.
Donkey: Really?
Shrek: NO!
Donkey: Are we there yet?!
Fiona: No!
Donkey: Are we there yet?!
Shrek: No, we are not!
Donkey: ARE WE THERE YET?!?!
Shrek and Fiona: NO!!!!!!
[Pause]
Donkey: Are we there yet?
Shrek: [talking over Donkey] Are we there yet?
Donkey: Hey, that's not funny.
Shrek: Hey, that's not funny.
Donkey: Oh, that's really immature!
Shrek: Oh, that's really immature!
Donkey: See, this is why nobody likes ogres!
Shrek: See, this is why nobody likes ogres!
Donkey: All right, your loss!
Shrek: All right, your loss.
Donkey: I'm just gonna stop talking!
Shrek: Finally!
Donkey: But this is takin' forever, Shrek, and ain't no in-flight movie or nothin'!
Shrek: The kingdom of Far Far Away, Donkey. That's where we're going. Far...far...away.
Donkey: All right, all right. I get it! I'm just so darn BORED!
Shrek: Well, find a way to entertain yourself!
[Silence]
Donkey: [pops his lips, then again, and Shrek grows more impatient, then Donkey pops his lips a third time]
Shrek: [restraining temper] Oh! For 5 minutes...could you not be yourself? [exploding] FOR 5 MINUTES!!!
[After another silence, Donkey pops his lips one last time]
Shrek: AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRGH!!! ARE WE THERE YET?!?!
Fiona: Yes!
Donkey: Oh, finally!

This is a famous convo between Shrek, Donkey and Fiona on Shrek 2 adventure; the 2004 animated film sequel to the previous film Shrek in which Princess Fiona's parents invite her and Shrek to dinner to celebrate her marriage, not knowing that the newlyweds are both ogres.

24 hours. 350 miles. His girlfriend's kids. What could possibly go wrong?
Coming soon... by plane, by train, by car.

And these are some of the not-so-famous tag lines from the 2005 movie Are We There Yet; a road trip of Nick, the playboy bachelor with the two kids of a divorced mother whom he’s dating. The trip was a disaster at the outset but with the usual happy script, it ended with “they lived happily ever after".

Here's our time...

What is the commonality between the two scenes? The agreement that I am referring to has something to do with the question “Are we there yet?” Both scenes are inquiring about “Are we there yet?’ the fixation of getting to a place in an instant that we usually overlooked the details and pleasure of the means of getting to a place. Just like with me, I usually get bored while travelling that is why I always schedule my trip during the night so that I could kill time by dozing off, though I usually having a hard time too. I always think of the destination place and the activity that I would do after I got there – the usual future-oriented maniac. I am not talking literal here, of going to a place and continuously asking, “Are we there yet?” This is about life. When I was a kid, I always think of being old enough to do the things that id love to in my own. When I entered high school, getting the right vocation was my priority and when stepped on college, the dream of having my own life was the biggest deal of all. I always look and savor the future – my destination. However, unavoidable things may happen, anytime, anywhere. So instead of imagining your destination place or securing your journey, it is better to enjoy the moments of your life, every moment...for you do not when are you going to retire. I have learned that lesson already. That is why though I am living with a slump-like situation right now, I am trying to bite into the bright side of everything. Life goes on and life is too short. Instead of questioning “Are we there yet?’, it’d be better to enjoy the scenery on the way.

Every moment counts and you cannot turn back time…Spend your time with your kids – they grow fast and they will never be kids again. Enjoy the time with your mums and dads – it is the best gift you could give to them. Kiss and say I love you to everyone you treasure – take every opportunity to make them feel loved…and of course, Enjoy every moment of your life.

It is not bad to feel sorry and sad, but a little mourn each day is enough. Be happy and enjoy the ride!!!

Psychology 101: Projection

It was a sunny Sunday morning, my mum, nephew, and I went to our village chapel to celebrate mass. It’s quite a long time since the last occasion that I had a mass at our village chapel. The celebration was presided by a new parish priest in town and to my surprise I didn’t feel like dozing off while the he was giving his long homily. During the whole mass my mum was sitting in between me and my nephew; less interaction to my chatty nephew. With the usual scene at the mass – the reading of gospels, the sitting, kneeling, and standing, the priest then said, "I leave you peace, my peace I give you. Now let us all offer one another the sign of peace." I am not really generous in giving nods or handshake during this “peace-be-with-you” scene at the mass. But for this time I reached for my nephews ear and told him “hey you should kiss nanay” but it was quite aloud that my nanay heard it and told me “He gave me kiss already”. I got quite embarrassed for it was really me who wanted to kiss her but I was pretty shy for a man with filthy beard to kiss his nanay in public. But with a second thought, I gave a smack kiss on her cheeks. I got shy – of course, but I had the relief feeling with my repressed thoughts and it felt good too. Happy Sunday to all…

Thank you .....
